What does this test include?
This package contains CBC, differential, urinalysis with sediment, INR, APTT, fibrinogen, D-dimer, glucose, creatinine, urea, AST, ALT, GGT, LDH, sodium, potassium, CRP and ferritin. It does not test directly for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Why might it be ordered?
- When a clinician wants a broader laboratory review during or after COVID-19.
- To assess selected blood-count, urine, clotting, kidney, liver, electrolyte and inflammatory markers.
What sample is needed?
A blood sample and fresh urine sample are required. Ask whether both should be submitted at the same visit.
How should you prepare?
Fasting may be requested because glucose is included. Seek urgent care for severe breathlessness, chest pain, fainting, confusion or signs of a blood clot.
How are the results reported?
Changes in these markers can occur in many illnesses and do not prove COVID-19 or a clot. The clinician interprets the overall pattern and decides whether imaging or other testing is needed.
