What does this test include?
This panel measures LH, FSH, prolactin, estradiol, progesterone and testosterone. These hormones are involved in menstrual cycles, ovulation, fertility, sexual development and reproductive function.
Why might it be ordered?
- To investigate irregular periods, fertility concerns or symptoms of hormone imbalance.
- To monitor a reproductive or endocrine condition when your clinician requests it.
What sample is needed?
The panel may require one or more samples. The laboratory will confirm the material needed for every included test.
How should you prepare?
The day of the menstrual cycle and time of collection may matter. Confirm the intended day and any rest or fasting instructions; do not change hormone treatment on your own.
How are the results reported?
Results depend strongly on sex, age, menstrual-cycle phase, pregnancy, menopause and medicines. The values should be interpreted together rather than as six independent diagnoses.
