What does this test include?
This panel combines a complete blood count, white-cell differential, ESR and microscopic review of red-cell morphology. It joins cell quantities with an inflammation marker and visual assessment of red cells.
Why might it be ordered?
- To investigate anaemia, inflammatory symptoms or several abnormal blood-count findings together.
- When a clinician needs an automated count plus microscopic red-cell information.
What sample is needed?
A blood sample is required. The laboratory chooses the correct tube and handles the sample for this test.
How should you prepare?
Fasting is usually unnecessary. Tell your clinician about recent illness, pregnancy, bleeding and medicines.
How are the results reported?
The four parts answer different questions and should be read as a pattern. None identifies a specific diagnosis on its own.
