What does this test include?
The published package contains IgG antibodies to rubella, herpes simplex virus type 2, cytomegalovirus and Toxoplasma gondii. These four IgG tests mainly indicate past exposure or immunity; IgM is not listed as part of this package.
Why might it be ordered?
- During pregnancy planning or antenatal care when a maternity clinician recommends these antibody checks.
- To review evidence of previous exposure or rubella immunity in the appropriate clinical context.
What sample is needed?
