What is this test?
A rhinocytogram is a microscopic examination of cells and other structures from the nasal lining. It provides orienting information about the inflammatory pattern.
Why might it be ordered?
- For persistent or recurring nasal symptoms when clinically indicated.
- As an adjunct when allergic or another inflammatory cause is being assessed.
What sample is needed?
