What is this test?
This serology test measures IgG antibodies. It assesses the immune response in blood rather than directly detecting the organism and does not establish a diagnosis by itself.
Why might it be ordered?
- For a clinical concern, known exposure, or a need to clarify an immune response.
- As part of a marker combination used to assess different stages or past exposure.

How should you understand the result?
The report states whether IgG antibodies were detected. IgG often reflects past exposure and, for some infections, vaccination; it does not automatically prove active infection or protective immunity.
